Park HighlandsOne of the builders, D.R. Horton, was recently sued by the group of developers led by the Olympia Group. It is alleged that D.R. Horton was not contributing more than $4.1 million that was due for infrastructure. Even if the lawsuit takes D.R. Horton off of the project, it is expected that the project will continue. October 9, 2008 Sector Snap: Analyst cuts casino price targets Boyd Gaming has resumed construction on the Echelong project, according to Forbes, although analysts are not sure of how much confidence to have: "The resumption of work at Boyd Gaming Corp.'s $4.8 billion Echelon project, which was recently suspended due to financing concerns, is also becoming harder to forecast." August 14, 2008 Hold That Crane Boyd Gaming has halted construction of their $4.8 billion Echelon resort due to a cooling Las Vegas economy. This does not fare well for the Park Highlands development and the developers who were counting on a luxury casino to help draw potential homebuyers to the North Las Vegas development. June 24, 2008 No Gaming Consultants for Park Highlands North Las Vegas decided to pull an item from the June 11 council meeting agenda that would have spent $12,500 to study the demand for gaming in the city. The timing has raised eyebrows as Boyd gaming is proposing to move a significant gaming project to the Park Highlands development. May 15, 2008 Developers: With slump and all, just writing to say we're OK Park Highlands developers issued a press release stating that the project was still on track despite problems with D.R.
